The most interesting thing I took away from 663 this week was meeting with the middle school kids to ask them their opinions on our materials for Project 2. I thought it was very interesting and helpful to see exactly what they liked, their first impressions, and everything else they thought. Being middle school kids they where not shy about telling us their opinions when they thought a picture was boring or they thought we needed a catchier phrase. Some liked Fun Fit Friends, others did not. Unfortunetly, none of them came up with a catchier phrase that they liked. It gave me a lot of insight on how hard it is to create something that appeals to a wide variety of people. It reminds me of the birthdays and cancer. I wonder how long it took them to stumble across the importance of birthdays in their focus groups.

Agenda setting and the media was an interesting lecture. It tied in with the book I read for extra credit (An Avocates guide to the Media).

I really liked hearing all the kids opinions for our media though-very amusing and interesting!
