This weeks lecture was on agenda setting and global health and it was very interesting to hear the more political side of public health and understanding how different levels of organizations can be used in pushing forward and issue. Internationally, the take biggest issues with agenda setting are that after laws or rules are in place there is no overseeing agency to regulate them worldwide and their is little consistency from country to country and conflicting interests.
The reading was also helpful in reviewing some of what I have previously learned about social marketing and also it echoed what I read in my extra credit presentation on marketing public health.
Also this week I has the opportunity to bring the PA group to the middle school that I work at and it was interesting to see the kids responses to our project and the messages that we had designed for each group. As expected there are some changes to be made however, the two segments did respond as we expected them to.
