The Real World

I really enjoyed the Real World applicability of this week's class activities and readings--no, not the of Puck fame MTV's Real World, the real, real world.

Working in groups to get interviews conducted, written up, and assembled into presentable material was both useful and satisfying. From both the content perspective and stylistic perspective, watching the other presentations was also helpful. And, certainly the more guided practice we get the better. As Daniel Coyle illustrates in his book Talent Code, practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice--i.e. practice with constructive feedback attached-- makes perfect.

Readings were generally straightforward. I found the one one humor interesting, and would be curious to see a more current analysis to see if any of the findings have changed.

Hope you are all enjoying some sunshine this weekend!!
